Pastor Ewen leads and preaches with a passion to see believers grow deeper in their faith and become effective servants of God, to each other and to their community. One of his guiding interests is to bring the best of the Christian academic world to bear upon the ministry of the local church. He strives to be biblically anchored and always promotes a strong Pentecostal environment.
Donna Butler (Coordinator of Music, Women & C.A.R.E. Ministry) is an experienced music specialist who always aims for teamwork, balance and excellence in worship leadership. Also, her passion is to see girls of all ages feel connected and empowered by the Spirit to embrace the unique persons that God has designed them to be. One of the greatest joys of her life is her family; she and Pastor Ewen have two sons.
Mark was born in Montreal, grew up in Tanzania/Kenya, studied at Eastern Pentecostal Bible College and is happily married to Donna (Newfie / Brazilian / Missionary Kid). They pastored in Winnipeg, Victoria and Brazil and had one of their kids born in each place. After 3 years of pastoring in Toronto, all five of them went to Mozambique for 7 years with PAOC Missions and returned to Canada in 2009. Mark worked at the Bible college (TVOA/MCS) for 4 years and operated a business in Peterborough before joining the team at Church on the Hill in August of 2016. Donna continues to work at the college. If you enjoy hunting, fishing, cars, coffee or God's kingdom agenda, please feel free to invite Mark to join you.
Student Ministries Pastor
Ryan and his wife Lauren felt right at home moving to Cobourg and joining the ministry team in 2011. Ryan, who grew up in Oshawa, and Lauren, from Belleville, cherished their summers growing up, in family cottages at Cobourg's Lakeshore Pentecostal Camp. In fact, Ryan and Lauren met years ago while both taking a week off in the summer to serve at Lakeshore's Kids Camp in different roles. Almost 4 years to the day, and after returning from Summit Pacific College in Abbotsford, BC and a year long visit to St. Lawrence College, Ryan walked through the doors at Church on the Hill to make an inquiry. After a hiring, marriage, two moves, and the birth of their children, things seem to just keep getting better. Ryan enjoys spending time with students, family and the Cobourg Fire Department where he volunteers.
